EVE Echoes is finally live, and we have a chance to eve echoes isk learn more about the void between stars a couple of days ahead of the rest of you capsuleers and those are our impressions of EVE Echoes.Announced way back in the midst of times, although just a tiny bit after the universe started heating and teased to the MMORPG team during EVE Vegas 2019, EVE Echoes is the massively successful space-faring MMORPG, however on the go.

Being EVE, it's taken some time and this instalment of CCP's franchise certainly resembles an adequate homage to the desktop original. Unlike other gambling spin-offs, EVE Echoes appears to be galaxies aside from the pixel art, side-scrolling money captures that other franchises may settle for. Instead, EVE Echoes impresses its EVE cred upon fresh capsuleers in the word go.

Log in to your first time, and you'll be presented with lore built on the center desktop EVE encounter. EVE Echoes is set in its own different EVE world, for obvious technical and storyline motives, but anybody familiar with the franchise will immediately feel at home as you begin by attempting to save an SOE boat from the get-go. Sadly, this action-packed opening at the depths of space does not go well for players, but thankfully you've got a clone. A fundamental tenet of the EVE universe, cones may be a replacement for magic respawns but don't expect too much diversity once you grow your own.

Like many cellular games, EVE Echoes supplies some options for character creation but they are relatively restricted. Initially permitting players to pick from among four factions, EVE Echoes thankfully slots gamers to either the Amarr, Gallente, Caldari, or Minmatar races for this opening gambit. While each of those four races open their very own flavor or citizens to choose from during character creation, the impact of these early choices is somewhat restricted for new players. All the four races arrive with their own history, detailed in a part of the narrative blurb, and also have slightly different technical skills. Beyond that, and most of all each race also includes a different aesthetic and pair of bloodlines to your very first EVE Echoes clone.

Assuming you can pick from the introduction four factions, then character development provides somewhat more diversity with a choice of bloodlines for every player to choose from. Every faction includes three default bloodlines, the result of each culture's history, and players can pick from a mixture of predetermined looks in each. While that sounds like a big enough gene pool, I can not help but feel slightly underwhelmed by the lack of personal attachment this brings to the opening moments of EVE Echoes. Potential capsuleers might be trying to find something a bit more interesting than a 2D avatar but EVE was never about the colour of a pilot's own hair and if I can seem like an extra on Cyberpunk 2077 then will have to do while I save up to buy eve isk an epic appearing new boat in this new world.
